Mercantilism

A

Economic theory that states political power depends on its wealth.

navigation acts

A

A series of laws that regulated trade between Britain and her colonies, Britain wanted to make sure the colonist remain completely dependent on them.

-Foreign naval vessels were prohibited from trading with the colonies directly, all could only be exported to and from Britain, colonist were discouraged from certain all manufacturing plants that might compete.

basically the king saying I don’t give a shit if you follow the navigation act and I’m not gonna pay attention to you not following it. He was too lazy and I was too hard to control the situation because they were so far away so this caused Colonies to rely on themselves and each other Instead of Britain.

The stamp act

A

The taxation on the colony put in price by the British power limit, all printed materials as a spare stamp indicating taxes been paid such as newspaper legal document pamphlets and playing cards, the tax was already in Britain but was new the colonies and it had so much outrage because it implement attacks on products already in the colonies. Benjamin Franklin removed the stamp tax by convincing the British parliament

A

Written in the second continental Congress and it was a last attempt to prevent Formal war from being declared between Britain in America. The colonist were asking for peace and they wanted to pursue reconciliation over resolution and all they wanted was a repeal of statutes and regulations.
