Describe what anatomical position is
- Upright (standing straight up)
- Facing forwards (looking straight ahead)
- Arms at sides (shoulders in neutral rotation,elbows extended and palms facing forwards)
- Legs parrallel (feet on the ground and second toe fscing forwards)

Posterior/dorsal
back
Superior/cranial
towards the head end of the body/upper
Inferior/caudal
away from the head/lower
medial
towards the midline of the body
lateral
away from the midline of the body
proximal
toward/nearest the center (trunk) of the body or towards the point of attachment to the bpdy

away/farthest from the centre (trunk) of the body or away from the point of attachment with the body
superficial
close to/on the surface of the body

frurther away from the bodys surface/more internally placed

closer to the centre/inside of an organ or cavity

away from/outside the centre/inside of an organ or cavity
Describe what supine position is
The most common position for surgery with the patients lying on their back with their head,neck and spine in neutral positioning and arms either adducted alongside the patients or abducted to less than 90 degrees (also the position cadavers are in when you dissect them).
