Advocate
Person who stands up on behalf of another person.
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
Provides care in hospital or community to specific specialty patients, such as, perinatal, cardiac, Neuro, oncology.
Clinical Pathways
Collaborative guidelines that define multidisciplinary care in terms of outcomes within a timeline.
Critical Thinking
Synthesis and analysis of all the information with the goal of developing purposeful goal directed thinking.
Cultural Awareness/ Cultural Sensitivity
Being sensitive to the differences and similarities between two cultures when communication and interacting.
Cultural Competence
Ability to effectively interact, work, develop relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds.
Cultural Humility
A process of self reflection and discovery for building honest and trustworthy relationships.

Understanding the power imbalances inherent in health care services and relationships and addressing these inequities in service delivery.
