Why is prejudice and anti social crowd behaviour an issue?

A

Damage to property costs money to fix.

May make a certain group feel scared if aggression is targeted towards them

Can result in murder

Can result in life changing injuries

In serious rivalries and derbys in sport football hooligan violence can result in death and life changing injuries, such as an injury to a Man U fan after he was stabbed by a West Ham fan

A

RCT would say due to competition for scarce resources

However, SIT would say due to merely the presence on an in group and an out group

A

SIT would say that trying to breakdown in group and out group barriers to create one big in group e.g Palestinian and Israeli youth choirs

However, more practical is RCT superordinate goals, however, still difficult to implement
