Key Performance Indicators Flashcards
What do KPIs do?
Measure performance of processes, both by machines and by people
What two things specificly can KPIs achieve?
Identifying areas where waste elimination is most needed
Enable comparing of performance with similar processes
What are examples of KPIs?
Cycle time
Changeover time
Throughput
OEE
On-time delivery
Lead time
Capacity utilisation
Scrap
Yield
What is the equation for efficiency?
Efficiency = (scrap / total input) x 100%
What is cycle time?
How long it takes to make a part
What is changeover time?
How long it takes to switch processes
What is throughput?
The number of products made per unit of time
What is OEE?
Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) is the percentage of efficiency an operation is running at
What is on-time delivery?
The percentage of products that are delivered to customers on time
What is lead time?
The time it takes to manufacture a product from start to finish
What is capacity utilisation?
The measure of the extent to which the productive capacity is in use by a company
What is scrap?
The percentage of products thrown away due to defects
What is yield?
The percentage of products that aren’t scrapped
