Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize your emotions, understand what they’re telling you, and realize how your emotions affect people around you. It also involves your perception of others: when you understand how they feel, this allows you to manage relationships more effectively.
1) Self Awareness: know their strengths and weaknesses, and they work on these areas so they can perform better 2) Self Regulation: Ability to control emotions like angry and jealous. Think before they act. 3) Motivation: Self motivated, highly productive, love a challenges, and effective whatever they do 4) Empathy: empathy is the ability to recognize emotions in others, and to understand other people's perspectives on a situation Empathy At Work: empathy is the ability to recognize emotions in others, and to understand other people's perspectives on a situation Cognitive Empathy-Think or feel about another person feeling Emotional Empathy-Ability to share the feeling of another person, and so understand the person on deeper level Compassionate Empathy: involves not only having concern for another person, and sharing their emotional pain, but also taking practical steps to reduce it. 5) Social Skills: Team players, rather than focus on their own success, help others develop and shine. Manage disputes, excellent communicators, and masters at building relationships
Ask right questions
Often beginning with “Why,” “How,” or “What do you think about…,” they are questions that set the stage for subordinates to discover their own solutions, increasing their competence, their confidence, and their ownership of results.
Open Question / Funnel questions (Start with General and Drill) / Probing questions (Ask more based on input) / Leading (Try to lead the respondent in our way)
