Take ketone bodies as drinks through powders. increases ketone bodies in blood.
Who uses the ketogenic diet?
Treatment for epilepsy
Weight loss
People trying to build muscle and lose fat
Negatives of ketogenic diet?
Hight fat - high saturated and trans fat intake as well as high cholesterol
Greater risk of developing NCDs such as CVD.
Difficult to maintain long term.
Doesn’t fall within NZ food and nutrition guidelines.
