Was out with Tanacharison and french came up to deliver message= fire at them= 10 killed 21 captured 1 wounded= one french man escaped and bad mouthed Washington
boston massacre
Bostonians angered 5 British soldiers guarding customs house. The fact of who said fire is still debated. The soldiers fired into the crowd. Bostonians were mad at british and wanted to prove that the british were bad with colonists and taxes. It happened on March 5, 1770>
intolerable acts
- Punished colonists for Boston Tea Party. Not allowed to have town Meetings. must repay for the tea. more soldiers were sent to Boston. Harbor was closed.
first continental congress
made on september 5, 1774 at Carpenter’s hall in Pennsylvania. George Washington and many others from 12/13 colonies attended. Boycotted all british Goods.
townshend acts
tax on lead, glass, paper, and tea. Had more soldiers stationed in Boston. led to more boycotts. eventually repealed but kept tax on tea.
