Q

What is the calculation for kinetic energy?

A

Ke = 1/2 x Mass x Velocity (squared)
Ke = 1/2 MV (squared)

Mass is measured in Kilograms - kg
Velocity is measured in metres per second - m/s
Kinetic Energy is measured in joules - J

Q

What is the equation for GPE

A

Gravitational Potential Energy = Mass X Gravitational Field Strength X Height
GPE= MGH

Mass is measured in kilograms - kg

Gravitational Field Strength is measured in Newton’s per kilogram (N/kg), usually taken as 10N/kg on Earth

Height is measured in Metres - m

GPE is measured in joules - J
