A

To investigate if daily hassles or life events are a better indicator of psychological I’ll health

What is a daily hassle scale?

A

117 daily hassles with 7 category’s (work,health,family,friends,environment eg) the scale is filled out everyday and a score is created.
For each question 1. Somewhat 2. Moderately severe 3. Extremely severe
The scores are totalled
Remember we also have life events going on
The scale recognised we get little boosts like when we get a good nights sleep

What was the procedure of kanners study?

A

The daily hassles scale was filled out by 100pps (ages 45-65) once a month for 9 months.
The also completed the Hopkins check list 9 times ( a measure of anxiety and depression)
And filled out a life events questionnaire on month 1 and month 10
