    c. Red TRAFFIC message displayed on PFDs
    d. TCAS II vertical speed test pattern displayed on IVSIs
    e. Aural message “TCAS SYSTEM TEST OK” heard over speakers and headsets at conclusion of successful test

N-23: EGPWS PREFLIGHT

A
  1. Verify avionics on following is functioning
    a. Radio Alt
    b. ADC 1 and 2
    c. AHRS 1 and 2
    d. GPS
    e. Gear and Flap Indicating System
    f. Display System (PFD and MFD)
  2. EGPWS inhibit switches (G/S INHIB, TERR INHIB, FLAP OVRD, and STEEP APPR)….deselected
  3. Verify no EGPWS inop mode messages (amber GPWS or TERR) displayed on PFD
  4. Select present position map and TERR for display on MFD. Verify no TERRAIN FAIL message is present.
  5. Conduct self test….press G/S INHIB and release
    a. Amber GPWS and TERR annun on PFD and TERRAIN FAIL on MFD
    b. Single “GLIDESLOPE” aural alert followed by momentary illum of G/S INHIB annun switch (ACTIVE)
    c. Amber GND PROX message on the PFD
    d. Single “PULL UP” aural alert accompanied by a red PULL UP message on PFD
    e. Single “TERRAIN, TERRAIN, PULL UP” aural alert accompanied by a red PULL UP message on the PFD
    f. Amber GND PROX message on the PFD
    g. Test pattern on the MFD terrain display
    h. Terrain display test pattern removed and all EGPWS messages and annun switches extinguished

N-24: PRESSURIZATION

  1. Environmental Bleed Air….NORMAL
  2. Bleed Air Valves….OPEN
    * 3. Pressurization Controller….SET
    a. Adjust cabin altitude knob to indicate 1000’ below field pressure altitude
    b. Set rate knob to 12 o’clock position
    * 4. Cabin Pressure Switch….HOLD AT THE TEST POSITION
    * 5. Cabin Altimeter and VSI….CHECK FOR DESCENT INDICATION
    * 6. Cabin Pressure Switch….RELEASE TO PRESS POSITION
  3. Pressurization Controller….SET
  • The inner scale (ACFT ALT) should indicate planned cruise altitude plus 1000’. This setting must not result in an outer scale (CABIN ALT) indication of less than 500ft above departure field pressure altitude.

    (AP disengages with operation/YD remains engaged)
  5. Elevator….CENTERED
  6. Autopilot….ENGAGE
    a. Apply rearward press to elevator: Pitch trim travels nose-down
    b. Apply forward pressure to elevator: Pitch trim travels nose-up
  7. AP/Trim Disconnect….DEPRESS TO 1ST LVL MOMENTARY
    RED [AP] & AMBER [YD] - ON THEN EXTINGUISHED ON PFD
  8. Repeat the 7 items above for copilot’s side

    Yellow [YD] flashes and rudder pedals move freely

N-26: *ELECTRIC PITCH TRIM

A
  1. Pilot’s and Copilot’s Trim Switches….CHECK OPERATION
    a. Move each dual-element switch fore and aft - VERIFY TRIM IS INOP
    b. Move both dual-element switches fore and aft - VERIFY TRIM OPERATES NOSE DOWN AND UP
    c. Ensure Pilot’s Trim switch overides copilot’s trim switch
  2. AP/Trim Disconnect….PRESS TO 2ND LEVEL
    Red [TRIM] - ILLUM on PFD
  3. Release Disconnect Switch….[TRIM} - OFF
    WARNING: Operation of the electric pitch trim system should occur only when both elements of the dual-element switch are activated. Any movement of the elevator trim wheel whole activating only one element denotes a system malfunction.

N-26: *OVERSPEED GOVERNORS / RUDDER BOOST

  1. Rudder Boost Switch….OFF
    [RUD BOOST OFF] - ON
  2. Rudder Boost Switch….RUDDER BOOST
    [RUD BOOST OFF] - OFF
  3. Prop Levers….FULL FORWARD
  4. Prop Governor Test Switch….HOLD TO GOV
    (resets governor to a lower number)
  5. Power Levers (Individually)….INCREASE UNTIL PROP STABILIZED AT 1500 - 1610 RPM (push until RPM stops then go a little further). CONTINUE TO INCREASE UNTIL RUDDER MOVEMENT IS NOTED. (right pwr lvr/right rudder fwd, left pwr lvr/left rudder fwd) (observe ITT and TQ limits)
  6. AP/Trim Disconnect Switch….DEPRESS TO 1ST LEVEL (rudder boost interrupted)
    [RUDDER BOOST OFF] - ON
  7. Release Disconnect Switch….[RUDDER BOOST OFF] - OFF
  8. Power Lever….IDLE
  9. Repeat steps 5 thru 8 on opposite engine
  10. Prop Governor Test Switch….RELEASE

N-27: *LOW PITCH STOPS AND PRIMARY GOVERNORS

  1. Prop Levers….FULL FORWARD
  2. Low Pitch Stop Switch….HOLD TO GND IDLE STOP
    [L PROP PITCH] & [R PROP PITCH] - ON
  3. Power Levers….SET 1500 RPM (78% N1)
  4. Prop Levers….CYCLE TO LOW AND HIGH RPM
    (primary gov.) (propeller RPM decreases then returns to 1500 RPM)
  5. Low Pitch Stop Switch….RELEASE
    [L PROP PITCH] & [R PROP PITCH] - OFF
  6. Prop RPM….STABILIZED AT 1,150 TO 1,250 (test prop solenoid)
  7. Power Levers….IDLE

    (move from 88% switch to 17% TQ)

  3. Power Levers….RETARD INDIVIDUALLY
    a. ~ 17% TQ - OPPOSITE ANNUN EXTINGUISHED
    b. ~ 10% TQ - BOTH ANNUN EXT (prop starts to FX)
  4. Power Levers….IDLE
    [L AFX] & [R AFX] - EXTINGUISHED (neither prop FXs)
  5. Autofeather Switch….RELEASE
