a. Select EMER Position…CHECK CONTINUOUS FLOW
b. Set 100% - Oxygen Duration….DETERMINE (see page N-18)

- Right Oil Pressure….CHECK
- Right Ignition and Engine Start (@ 50% N1)….OFF
- Right Condition Lever….HIGH IDLE
- Right Generator….RESET, THEN ON
[R DC GEN], [L GEN TIE OPEN], [R GEN TIE OPEN] - OFF - Battery….CHARGE
loadmeter 50% or less - Left Ignition and Engine Start….ON
[L INGNITION ON] - ON
[L FUEL PRESS LO] - OFF - Left Condition Lever (after 12% N1)….LOW IDLE
- Left ITT and N1….MONITOR (1000*C MAX)
- Left Oil Pressure….CHECK
- Left Ignition and Engine Start (@ 50% N1)….OFF
- Right Condition Lever….REDUCE TO LOW IDLE
- Left and Right Prop RPM….1050 MIN (N1 62%)
- [L PROP PITCH] & [R PROP PITCH]….ON
- Voltmeter….(current limiter test)….L GEN
(voltmeter - 27.5 to 29.0 volts) - Left Generator….RESET, THEN ON
[L DC GEN] - OFF - Right Generator….RESET HOLD, THEN ON
[L GEN TIE OPEN] & [R GEN TIE OPEN] - REMAIN OFF WITH SWITCH IN RESET POS
(19-21 checking continuity)

- ITT Below 400*C….IGNITION AND ENG START - OFF
- Don’t attempt another start until the cause of the hot start has been corrected.

FF~80 (35%N1) / ITT hangs low
- Condition Lever….FUEL CUTOFF
- Ignition and Engine Start….STARTER ONLY
- ITT Below 400*C….IGNITION AND ENG START - OFF
- Don’t attempt another start until the cause of the hung start has been corrected.

NO LIGHT START
A
No ITT rise observed within 10 seconds after moving Condition Lever to LOW IDLE
- Condition Lever….FUEL CUTOFF
- Ignition and Engine Start….OFF
- Allow 5 min for fuel to drain and starter to cool, then follow ENGINE CLEARING procedure

[L GEN TIE OPEN] & [R GEN TIE OPEN] - OFF - Bus Sense….MOMENTARILY TO TEST (HED Testing)
[L GEN TIE OPEN], [R GEN TIE OPEN], [BAT TIE OPEN] - ON - Voltmeter….CTR - volts
- Bus Sense….MOMENTARILY TO RESET
[L GEN TIE OPEN], [R GEN TIE OPEN], [BAT TIE OPEN] - OFF - Voltmeter….CTR - 27.5 to 29.0 volts
- Generator Load….OBSERVE PARALLELED W/IN 10%

- MFD…PRESS TFC KEY MORE THAN 1 SEC TO SELECT TCAS ONLY MAP
- RTU PRESS LSK R3 3 TIMES TO ACTIVATE TEST
a. TCAS II test pattern display on MFD
b. TCAS TEST message displayed on PFD and MFD
c. Red TRAFFIC message displayed on PFDs
d. TCAS II vertical speed test pattern displayed on IVSIs
e. Aural message “TCAS SYSTEM TEST OK” heard over speakers and headsets at conclusion of successful test

N-23: EGPWS PREFLIGHT
A
- Verify avionics on following is functioning
a. Radio Alt
b. ADC 1 and 2
c. AHRS 1 and 2
d. GPS
e. Gear and Flap Indicating System
f. Display System (PFD and MFD) - EGPWS inhibit switches (G/S INHIB, TERR INHIB, FLAP OVRD, and STEEP APPR)….deselected
- Verify no EGPWS inop mode messages (amber GPWS or TERR) displayed on PFD
- Select present position map and TERR for display on MFD. Verify no TERRAIN FAIL message is present.
- Conduct self test….press G/S INHIB and release
a. Amber GPWS and TERR annun on PFD and TERRAIN FAIL on MFD
b. Single “GLIDESLOPE” aural alert followed by momentary illum of G/S INHIB annun switch (ACTIVE)
c. Amber GND PROX message on the PFD
d. Single “PULL UP” aural alert accompanied by a red PULL UP message on PFD
e. Single “TERRAIN, TERRAIN, PULL UP” aural alert accompanied by a red PULL UP message on the PFD
f. Amber GND PROX message on the PFD
g. Test pattern on the MFD terrain display
h. Terrain display test pattern removed and all EGPWS messages and annun switches extinguished

N-24: PRESSURIZATION
A
- Environmental Bleed Air….NORMAL
- Bleed Air Valves….OPEN
* 3. Pressurization Controller….SET
a. Adjust cabin altitude knob to indicate 1000’ below field pressure altitude
b. Set rate knob to 12 o’clock position
* 4. Cabin Pressure Switch….HOLD AT THE TEST POSITION
* 5. Cabin Altimeter and VSI….CHECK FOR DESCENT INDICATION
* 6. Cabin Pressure Switch….RELEASE TO PRESS POSITION - Pressurization Controller….SET
- The inner scale (ACFT ALT) should indicate planned cruise altitude plus 1000’. This setting must not result in an outer scale (CABIN ALT) indication of less than 500ft above departure field pressure altitude.

N-25: AUTOPILOT
A
- Pitch Trim….TAKEOFF POSITION
- Elevator….FORWARD POSITION
- Autopilot….ENGAGE
[AP] - ON on PFD - Electric Pitch Trim….OPERATE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS
(AP disengages with operation/YD remains engaged) - Elevator….CENTERED
- Autopilot….ENGAGE
a. Apply rearward press to elevator: Pitch trim travels nose-down
b. Apply forward pressure to elevator: Pitch trim travels nose-up - AP/Trim Disconnect….DEPRESS TO 1ST LVL MOMENTARY
RED [AP] & AMBER [YD] - ON THEN EXTINGUISHED ON PFD - Repeat the 7 items above for copilot’s side

N-25: YAW DAMP
A
- Yaw Damp….CHECK
- Yaw Damp….ON
GREEN [YD] - ILLUM on PFD - Rudder Pedals….CHECK FOR ADDED RESISTANCE
- AP/Trim Disconnect….PRESS TO 1ST LEVEL
Yellow [YD] flashes and rudder pedals move freely

N-26: *ELECTRIC PITCH TRIM
A
- Pilot’s and Copilot’s Trim Switches….CHECK OPERATION
a. Move each dual-element switch fore and aft - VERIFY TRIM IS INOP
b. Move both dual-element switches fore and aft - VERIFY TRIM OPERATES NOSE DOWN AND UP
c. Ensure Pilot’s Trim switch overides copilot’s trim switch - AP/Trim Disconnect….PRESS TO 2ND LEVEL
Red [TRIM] - ILLUM on PFD - Release Disconnect Switch….[TRIM} - OFF
WARNING: Operation of the electric pitch trim system should occur only when both elements of the dual-element switch are activated. Any movement of the elevator trim wheel whole activating only one element denotes a system malfunction.
