The triassic period spanned from 250 million years ago to 200 million years ago. Rocks laid down in this period include pebble beds, sandstone and mudstone.
When was the Jurassic period and what was formed during this time?
The Jurassic period was 200 million years ago to 140 million years ago. Thick layers of sandstone, clay and limestone were deposited including fossils.
When was the cretaceous period and what was formed in this period?
The Cretaceous period was 140 million years ago to 65 million years ago. More clay sandstone and chalk was deposited in this period.
When was the Quaternary period and what was formed during this time?
The Quaternary period was 2.6 million years ago to the present day. A series of ice ages and changes to the sea level took place. When the last ice age ended sea levels rose to create a modem coastline.
