When a 12 year old girl takes responsibility for their faith in a ceremony.
What is a betrophal?
An engagement. This can take place up to a year before marriage.
What does marriage take place under?
A chuppah.
How do men and women celebrate at the wedding reception?
Men and women celebrate separately at the wedding reception.
What is the shiva?
The week following the funeral of intense mourning for the family.
What do jewish people do when they first hear the news of someone dying?
They tear their clothes to show that something has been torn in their life.
What will the family place down to mark the persons grave after a year.

Usually 24 hours after the person has died.
What is rosh hashanah?
The jewish new year. 2 day festival to celebrate the jewish new year.
What is yom kippur?
The day of atonement. This celebrates the fact that the jewish first borns were not killed during the tenth plague (angel of death).
