What is Revelation in Judaism?
When G-d revealed Himself, His plans, and His will to the Jewish community.
What does Judaism teach humanity about humans not being inherently sinful?
Sin (Chet) comes from human desires (yetzer) which must be detained so that Jews can follow the Mitzvot and uphold their covenant with God.
What was the Covenant made between G-d and the Jewish community?
Abrahams Covenant + Moses Covenant
Circumcision and the 10 commandments.
What is Chet (sin) in Judaism?
When an adherent strays from the correct way of behaving due to human desires that outweigh the desire to follow G-d.
What happens when a Jewish adherent commits Chet (sin)?
They can seek atonement. This act of repentance allows them to re-join their covenantal relationship with the Jewish community and G-d.
What are the 3 concepts of Justice in Jewish faith?
- Chesed - acts of loving kindness.
- Tzedakah - charitable giving to those in need.
- Tzedek - removing systemic oppression so that charity is no longer needed.
What are Jewish adherents taught about the Sanctity Of Life?
All life is created by G-d, therefore all life belongs to Him. Meaning that all life is sacred.
What is the concept of Pikauch Nefesh?
Save or preserve the life of another person.
