A

ends of the two bones are joined together within a fluid-filled capsule

greatest degree of mobility of any of the joint-types

ends of bones are protected by layer of cartilage (called articular cartilage)

EXAMPLES: shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, hips, knees, ankles & toes
