Explain the ball and socket joint.
Ball-and-socket joints. Ball-and-socket joints, such as the shoulder and hip joints, allow backward, forward, sideways, and rotating movements.
Explain the hinge joint.
A hinge joint is a type of synovial joint that exists in the body and serves to allow motion primarily in one plane. The hinge joints of the body include the elbow, knee and more.
Explain the pivot joint.
a freely moveable joint that allows only rotary movement around a single axis. Pivot joints in the neck, that allows the head to rotate and the pivot joints between radius and ulna help in rotating the forearm.
Explain the saddle joint.
A saddle joint is a type of movable joint that allows movements on two planes–flexion or extension and abduction or adduction. The prime example of a saddle joint is the metacarpal joint at the base of your thumb.
