Flextion vs. Extension
Flextion decrease the angle between the bones (bending of a joint)
Extension increase the angle and straightens the joint
Abduction vs adduction
Abduction away from body
Adduction inward closer to body
Internal rotation versus external rotation
Internal rotation is rotation towards the centre of the body
External rotation is rotation away from the centre of the body
Protraction vs. Retraction
Protraction refers to sticking out
Retraction refers to bring together
Eversion vs. inversion
Eversion is tilting the foot to the soul faces away from the midline
Inversion tilting of the foot so the soul faces into the midline
Pronation versus supination
Pronation refers to in rolling of the foot
Supination refers to outward rolling
Dorsey flexion versus plantar flexion
Dorsey flexion occurs when you lift the forward portion of the foot up weight on the heels of your feet
Plantar flexion occurs when you push forward portion of the foot down freezing your heels off the ground
Depression versus elevation
Depression occurs when a persons and and looks down
Elevation occurs when a person stands and looks
Ulnar deviation versus radial deviation
Ulnar deviation occurs when you tilt the hand toward the ulnar bone (side of pinky finger)
Radial deviation occurs when you til the hand towards the radius bone (Side of the thumb)
Opposition versus re-opposition
Opposition occurs when touching the tip of your fingers to the tip of the thumb
Re-opposition consist when separating fingers and thumbs away from each other
