Joint Innervation Flashcards
SI Joint
Dorsal Rami L5-S3
Pubic Symphysis
Several nerves from the sacral plexus, including the pudendal, genitofemoral, and branches of the iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves supply this joint
Femeroacetabular Joint
the anterior and posterior aspects of the capsule is innervated by the femoral nerve and roots of the sacral plexus, respectively
Tibiofemoral Joint
The femoral, tibial, and common fibular nerves supply innervation to the anterior, posterior, and lateral aspects of the tibiofemoral joint. The obturator and saphenous nerves supply the medial aspect of the joint
Patellofemoral Joint
Femoral Nerve
Proximal tibiofibular joint
Common fibular nerve
Distal tibiofibular joint
Deep fibular, tibial, and saphenous nerves
TCJ
Tibial nerve and the deep fibular nerve
Subtalar Joint
medial or lateral plantar nerve on the plantar aspect and the deep fibular nerve on the dorsal aspect innervate the joint
Transverse tarsal joints
Medial or lateral plantar nerve on the plantar surface of the joint, and the deep fibular nerve on the dorsal aspect of the joint provide innervation
Cuneonavicular joint
Medial or lateral plantar nerve on the plantar side of the joint and the deep fibular nerve on the dorsal side
Tarsometarsal/intermetatarsal joints
Nerve supply to the plantar aspect of the joints are provided by the lateral and medial plantar nerves. Nerve supply to the dorsum of the foot is from the deep peroneal nerve
LE MTP & IP Joints
Digital Nerves
SC Joint
medial supraclavicular nerve and the nerve to the subclavius
AC Joint
lateral pectoral, axillary, and subcutaneous lateral supraclavicular nerves
