When is ‘a’ used for saying ‘of’?
If you have mana over something you have an ‘a’ relationship with it
Ko A rāua ko B ngā tamariki a C
“A and B are the children of C”
When is ‘o’ used for saying ‘of’?
If something has mana over you, hey ahem an ‘o’ category relationship over you.
Ko C to māmā o A rāua ko B
“C is the mother of A and B”
What is a tip for knowing which particle to use?
Look to the work directly to the left of the particle and see if you have mana over it or not
