Joel 1-2 The Locust Plagues Ravaging the Land and the Repentance of the People
Joel 3-4 The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord
Part I of Joel describes
the locust plagues, which wipes out food.
Also exhorts the people to put on sackcloths and beseech God’s mercy through REPENTANCE, FASTING and PRAYERS
In Joel 2, Joel tells the people to rend
their hearts and turn back to the Lord, for may be compassionate
For their part, the priests are to
cry out a liturgy of anguish so that the lord may spare his people
