what is job production?
bespoke items made individually (e.g. wedding dress) to fit the consumers wants
adv and disadv: job production

what is batch production?
batches of identical products are produced then split into separate batches (e.g. for a logo, colour or size)
adv and disadv: batch production
✅efficiency because of machinery
❌storing all the products is expensive
what is flow production?
continuous production on an assembly line (e.g. drinks or cars)
adv and disadv: flow production
✅very efficient
✅less training for staff needed - not a specialised skill
❌low worker motivation
❌initial set up price is very high - machinery costs
what is cell production?
whereby workers are grouped to help create a a product
why is cell production better than flow production?
because workers are more motivated in cell production and it’s more flexible than flow production
