What is Jet Upset defined as?
Anytime the airplane is diverting from the intended airplane state. An upset can include pitch, roll, and/or airspeed deviations.
Nose Up >25º or Nose Down<10º
Bank Angle >45º
OR
Flight within these parameters but with airspeeds inappropriate for the conditions
What indicates a stalled condition?
Stick Shaker, Buffet, Lack of pitch and roll authority, inability to arrest descent rate.
What is the Nose Low recovery technique?
Disengage A/P
Disengage A/T
Recover from stall if req.
Roll wings level
Nose up Elevator and Trim
What is the nose high recovery technique?
Disengage A/P
Disengage A/T
Apply nose down elevator and trim
Reduce Thrust
What is the Nauru Airlines Recovery Technique for jet upset?
UPRPR
U ‘Upset’ State the upset ie. Nose high or nose low
P ‘Push’ Unload the wing
R ‘Roll’ as required
P ‘Power’ Thrust as required
R ‘Recover’ to a stabilised flight regime
