A
  • Narrower bore
  • thinner walls
  • lower reachers have an antimesenteric border of elongated whitish plaques which are aggregaed lymphoid follicles (= peyer’s patches)
  • lies in the lower part and down into the pelvis

Q

What is the blood supply of the jejunum?

A
  • From the SMA
  • single arcades which give off straight arteries
  • These arteries are long and narrowly spaced for the jejunum

Q

What is the course and role of the parasympathetic supply to the ileum and jejunum?

Q

What is the course and role of the sympathetic supply to the ileum and jejunum?

A

The sympathetic supply is a vasoconstrictor and inhibits peristalsis peristalsis, and transmits pain which is usually felt in the umbilical region. Course??
