describe how rbcs are disposed with relation to bilirubin

A

in spleen: rbcs disposed, Hb released, hb broken down into haem. haem turned into unconjugated bili. insoluble in water. bound to albumin and transported to liver

liver: bilirubin conjugated. soluble in water. into bile -> small intestine. in large intestine bilirubin -> urobilinogen -> formurobilin and stercobilin (brown stool)
kindy: some urobilinogen resorbed and excreted in urine

cholestatic jaundice. conjugated. hepatic and post hepatic disease
