Q

How is Convergent Mass Communication Different from Traditional Mass Communication?

A

Traditional mass communication is a creator/audience relationship in which the audience is largely mute. Now with converging forms of mass media, the audience can also participate and produce media in response to the media they consume. This is why they’re called “prod-users.”
Prod-users are active participants, not passive observers.
