Poor families in Jakarta participate in informal jobs which have unreliable pay. Poor families are likely to stay poor because they don’t have ID cards which means they are unable to claim befits . Half of Indonesia earns only £2 per day

Middle class jobs are decently paid and are formal jobs which means they have regular reliable income sources

Upper class members can earn upwards of £50 million per year and have formal jobs and businesses
