anarchy and dictatorship as he controls the choir from the start and pushed back against Ralph whilst encouraging the boys to ignore Ralph’s orders (he also represents the dark side to human nature)
How does Jack represent savagery?
he is the one that leads the boys into savagery after he falls into it and his complete willingness to accept and use violence upon others intimidates the other boys, who are afraid to go against him
What kind of leader is Jack?
a self-appointed, catalytic one due to the ‘darkness of man’s heart’
What do Ralph and Jack represent?
civilization vs savagery
Why does Jack represent the Id?
he has no desire to follow rules or laws while showing no remorse when resorting to violence and murder

paragraph 1- Jack is presented as a power-hungry boy who is arrogant and a bully, however he is still clearly confided by the rules of society (proved as he isn’t able to kill the pig)
paragraph 2- Jack is presented as violent and the first one to be engulfed by the inherent evil of mankind distances from Ralph’s civilization
