Shows Jekylls belief in calvinism and shows that they are a pair of good and evil from the same person and shows that he believes that Hyde was made along side of him but had been suppressed

shows that Hyde was trapped inside of Jekyll and he was suppresed for so long that when he came out he was tronger than ever. shows that stevenson does not agree with victorian standards as they were expected to supress emotion

Implies that Hyde was always inside of him and his postion mearly allowed it to come out.
C: would make a victorian reader scared as they darwins theory of evolution could mean that if we came from animals we could regress back
