makes the reader want to know what is trapping him and what he is trying to hide form his close freind. This also suggest isolation from others as he has done or doing something bad or immoral

This could suggest he is under immense preasure or stress and this makes the reader understand that he is hiding something bad

To describe his postions and does not disclose any informaion about its effect or use

Makes us question what Jekyll is doing in his lab and makes us interested in his connection to Hyde

Shows that he wants to be alone in isolation away from others showing us that he has secrets and therefor is mysterious

Can show he is hiding something that he does and shows that he is mysterious
