IVC Filter Placement
Contraindications

Disease)
An absolute contraindication to anticoagulation.

patients with chronic pulmonary thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
During or after surgical or endovascular
thrombolysis/thrombectomy for massive PE
PE in the presence of severe cardiopulmonary disease

Methods & Approaches
Percutaneous Transfemoral
&
Jugular Vein
Materials used
Introducer Sheaths, Guidwires, Catheters, and IVC filters
Contrast Material
Iodinated CM
- They contain iodine compounds that absorb X-rays, making blood\ vessels and structures more visible on imaging studies. Iodinated contrast agents can be classified as low-osmolar or isoosmolar, with the latter being less likely to cause adverse reactions.
Steps in the Procedure
Patient Preparation, Access Site Location, Catheter Navigation, Filter Deployment, Confirmation of Proper Filter Positioning, Post care, Post-Procedural Care and Monitoring.
