What is the purpose for administering IV fluids
For the purpose of providing nutrition, restoring lost fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, and maintaining fluid balance during surgery and comatose conditions. Also for administering medications directly into the circulatory system
What is replacement therapy?
It involves providing components lost during surgery, trauma, burns, shock, vomiting, diarrhea, tubular drainage, wound and burn drainage, and diuresis
What vein sites are used for IV access?
