Iv Characteristics Flashcards
What happens to a fixed resistor?
VOLTAGE and POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO CURRENT
GRADIENT stays the same and is constant therefore resistant is also
What is ohmic ?
When current is direct proportional to p.d
What happens to a filament lamp ?
Current INCREASES
temperature INCREASES
resistance INCREASES because temperature does also
so LESS CURRENT FLOWS
What happens with a diode ?
Current is 0 so Resistance is VERY LARGE
so current will flow and resistance less
What happens to LDR ?
Light resistance increase
Resistance decrease
Potential difference and voltage is directly proportional to current
What happens to thermistor ?
Voltage and potential difference to current
Temp increases
Resistance decreases
