Couple of weeks to couple of months
what is non tunneled and tunneled used for
*Chemotherapy, frequent blood draws, CVP monitoring (determine how much fluids a patient needs), shock (rapid infusion of blood/fluids), hemodialysis
Implantable venous access port uses
Uses same as other central venous catheters
- Chemotherapy
- Long term antibiotic use, fluid therapy, blood sampling
