Polish Crisis

A

Crisis between 1938-1939 that led to the outbreak of WW2, started because Germany wanted to build rail roads to link Germany and East Prussia through Poland, but Poland wasn’t interested in letting Germany do that and annex Danzig, the port city they had just lost in WW1. Britain and France promised to defend Poland’s borders, but Hitler didn’t believe them because of earlier appeasement actions so he invaded Poland on 1 September 1939 and dragged Europe into war
