what are the things to consider when presenting information?

In Word processing/ DTP what is a template? give and
- pre-defined page/layout which can be used as a basis for other documents
e. g creating set layout for a letterhead with school info and logo
In Word processing/ DTP what are style sheets? give an example
- contains info on font style, size, margins and languages
e. g change headings to 16 point Arial
In Word processing/ DTP what is mail merge? give and example
- incorporating data automatically from store into an outline document
e. g creating a set of letters informing shareholders of the annual general meeting
In Word processing/ DTP what are macros? give an example
- a stored list of instructions which is used to automate a task, code or program
e. g creating a macro for the same signature to be placed on several letters so it does not have to be inserted repeatedly
In Presentation what is a templates? give an example
- prewritten slides with design and some basic information already included, which saves you having to create from scratch
e. g in an estate agent these could contain a layout with the company’s colour scheme and company logo already placed
In Presentation what is a animated transitions? give an example
- this is when you give an entry/exist effect when you move from one slide to another
e. g such as fading which improves the flow of the presentation
In Presentation what are hyperlinks? give an example
- These are object/text which when clicked upon take you to another file, image page or to a different of your presentation
e. g could be used by an estate agent by clicking on a photo of a room which takes the user to information about the room like dimensions etc.
In Databases what is import/export? give an example
- transferring data from one piece of software to another
e. g exporting names and addresses into a word processing program to produce appointment reminder letters
In Databases what is a query? give and example
- a query is when you interrogate (search/sort/filter) a database to find some information
e. g a search to find all the ‘patients who have asthma because they need a flu injection’
In Databases what is report? give an example
- a user friendly output from a database in which the results are presented in a way that is controlled by the user
e. g a graph to show blood pressure to compare if it is higher or lower than the previous day
In Web authoring what are hyperlinks? give an example
- these are words or images which when clicked upon take you to another part of the website
e. g could be used by an estate agent by clicking on text saying ‘view houses in prenton’ which then takes them to another page with more detailed information about the houses like price etc.
In Web authoring what are frames? give an example
- A frame is a section of web page in which semi-independent activities can take place
e. g an area with menu or group of links
In Web authoring what is HTML? state advantages
-this is used to customise webpages.
-it allows greater control of the behaviour of text and the positioning of images
