A

-Research aims to be universal. -Universality means that all research applies equally to everyone - regardless of their gender. -Psychologists like to believe that they can create theories and explanations that are universal.
-They can apply to anyone, anywhere regardless of time or culture. However, this is often not the case.

Q

Why does Gender bias happen?

A

•Male samples are generalised to females. It’s also worth noting that it is not always stated that participants were all male.
•Male behaviour is seen as standard. If the behaviour of women differs from that of men, the behaviour of women is seen as a deviation from the norm.
- Biological differences are over emphasised, underestimates the role of social and external factors.
