Q

What is the mass number

A

This is the relative mass of atoms. Its calculating from adding the number of protons (Ar=1) to the number of neutrons (Ar=1). Electrons a regarded as having amass of zero.

Q

How do you calculate the average atomic mass from given isotopic abundances

A

(Mass of isotopes 1 x %abundances) + (Mass of isotopes 2 x %abundances) +(Mass of isotopes 3 x %abundances)
