definition and implications

A
  • Multidrug-resistant organisms
  • Bacteria or organisms that have developed resistance to antimicrobial agents
  • MRSA, VRE
  • There are few agents that can kill the organism making it hard to treat and can cause the patient to be in the hospital for extended periods of time
  • Patients/ health care workers can be colonized but not show symptoms
  • they can change
