ISO 9004 Flashcards
What is ISO 9004?
The ISO 9004 provides the management of an organization with guidance on how sustained success can be achieved in a complex, challenging and constantly changing environment by using a quality management system.
An organization achieves sustainable success through its ability to meet the requirements (i.e. needs and expectations) of customers and other interested parties in the long term.
Furthermore, the ISO 9004 promotes self-evaluation as an important tool for evaluating the level of maturity of an organization.
Who are the interested parties of ISO 9004?
Interested parties are individuals and legal entities that contribute to an organization ́s creation of value, and are interested in, or affected by, the organization ́s activities. Meeting the requirements (needs and expectations) of interested parties contributes to the sustained success of the organization. (Customers, Owners, Employees, Suppliers, Society).
What is the ISO 10000 Family?
The ISO 10000 Series of Standards supports the introduction and
further development of a quality management system.
The Series of Standards does not include any requirements but provides guidelines (guidance), in which recommendations for deployment in operational practice are included.
Examples:
ISO 10002 Guidelines for complaints handling in organizations
ISO 10005 Guidelines for quality plans
