What was his childhood like?🔴
Muhammad was born in Mecca into a noble tribe called the Quraysh. His father died when he was born and his mother died when he was 6. He was looked after by his granddad and when he died, he was looked after by his uncle
What was his job and what was his nickname and what did it mean?🔴
He was a trader, his nickname was ‘Al - Amin’ and it meant the trustworthy.
Why was he called Al - Amin?🔴
He was called Al - Amin because he was trusted and didn’t cheat like most of the traders.
Who did he marry?🔴
He married a woman named Khadijah at the age of 25. He didn’t propose though, Khadijah asked him to marry her!
At what age did Muhammad become a prophet?🔴
Muhammad became a prophet at the age of 40 in the year 610 CE (AD.)
How did he become a prophet?🔴
Muhammad was meditating one night on Mount Hira when an angel visited him speaking God’s words. The prophet couldn’t read or write yet the angel commanded him to read and he found himself speaking the words of Allah. He then started preaching openly and told the people that there was only one God and not many God’s and different idols.
Why did many people not like the way Muhammad was preaching?🔴
Many people didn’t like Muhammad’s preaching because they were making money from the idols and they didn’t want to give up their old way of life.
Why did Muhammad leave Mecca?🔴
Muhammad left Mecca as he received an invitation from a nearby city called Medina. They wanted him to teach them the way to live. He also moved because many people were against him and his followers were being persecuted.
What happened after Muhammad left for Medina?
Him and his best friend stayed in a cave on their way to Medina. They were in the cave to protect themselves from the idol worshippers who were after the prophet. When they reached the cave, they thought the prophet would have stopped there but by the entrance of the cave, they saw a spider web and thought if someone was in the cave, they would have broken the spider web so they turned round and went back to their masters.
Explain the battles.
The people of Medina heard that the people of Mecca were going to attack them so the prophet got an army ready to go to war. They won lost 1 war but won 2 so the prophet won overall. He returned to Mecca and destroyed the idols and taught everyone the way of Allah.
What did the camel choose during the time of Prophet Muhammad?
When the prophet arrived in Medina, everyone wanted him to live with them so he let his camel loose and said ‘wherever my camel stops is where I will build the mosque.’ The camel chose where the first mosque would be built.

The day he went out into the cave on Mount Hira to meditate was a significant event as this was the day he became a prophet - he was told to read by an angel even though he was dyslexic. This was also important as this was when the Quran was revealed to him.

Another significant event was when he received an invitation from the people of Medina to teach them - this was significant as people finally wanted to learn the ways and teachings of Allah

When the prophet reached Medina, everyone wanted him to live at their house but instead he said that he would live wherever his camel stopped - this was important as the first mosque would also be built here.
