Actions of bowing, and prostrating, reminds god is greater. “he is the most high”
Most hardest of the 5 pillars is Salah 12 marks for
You have to read it 5 times a day. HADITH: “I have made 5 times obligatory”, means that you have to pray 5 times a day, as not doing it, is disobeying god.
“You have to do salah regularly”, you have to do it always 5 times a day. You cannot miss a day, because Muslims believe that the 1st thing that will asked on Day of Judgement will be your prayers, so it could possibly send you hell

Fasting is the hardest. It is given to everyone. “Fasting is prescribed to you”, it is not only to do with food, but spiritually, and mentally. It cleanses the soul, and free from harm, but not having food for most of the day is really hard.
Hajj is the hardest. It has to be done by everyone at least once in their life. “Hajj is a duty owed to god” . It teaches sincerity, and humility to person relationship with god, and shows self-discipline, as physical and mental demands it imposes are GREAT.

Explain two ways in which the actions of the prophet Ibrahim and his family are remembered on Hajj 4 marks
Walking along walkway linking hills of Safa and Marwah, story of Hajara and Ishmael, trying to find water.
Sacrifice a goat, or a cow, as Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son
Hajj is most important
It reminds reminders, like in Safa and Marwah, where Hajara was trying to find water, Ibrahim, was about to sacrifice his son, due to god commanding him, showing his obedience to god, and that may be why “Ibrahim is a friend of god”

Explain two ways in which Muslims think zakah is important. Refer to sacred writings or another source of Muslim belief and teaching in your answer. (5)
Muslims fulfilling duty imposed by god, “and give zakat” makes it clear that Zakah is sign of true Muslim.
Links with Salah, prayers should make Muslims concerned about others, Zakah puts concern into action.
Zakah is important
Zakah can get someone sinless. zakah means “that which purifies”. Giving charity, Muslims can cleanse their wealth, important, that they don’t get attached to things like money and possessions, focusing on money means not a good Muslim
Muslims see wealth as belonging to god, Allahs wealth should be distrubted equally, as everyone is the same HADITH “all people are as equal as the teeth of a comb.”. This means that if not following, it will affect them.
Jihad is not a central belief for
Belief like there is only one god is important. There is only one god and his messenger”. Means that there is nothing worthy accept god.
Believing in the Quran is more important, “This is a truly a glorious Quran, written on a preserved tablet.” means that Quran has not been changed since, it is the true word of god
Jihad is not a central belief against
Jihad means “struggle in way of Allah”. Could be against evil, as individual or collective. Requires Muslims to try their best, to strive to improve themselves.
Important, as defends Muslims from threat “fight in gods cause”, this means that doing something for gods cause is important, can be for freedom to practice their faith.
Jihad should not be understood in terms of holy war. (12+3)
