These underpin the religious thought for Muslims. Each article helps a Muslim follow the correct path to get to heaven (Jannah).

Foundations of faith for Shi’a. Principles Shi’a Muslims should live by. The Imamate is unique to Shi’a Islam but shows the importance of following the twelve imams who must be obeyed and can do no wrong.
What is the influence of Adalat (Mercy, justice, and fairness)? Give 2 and explain briefly
Day of Judgement - God is just. Just is one of five roots of Usul ad-Din (Shi’a), so a major part of Shi’a faith.
This concept means that God will be fair when he decides who will go to heaven/ hell on the Day of Judgement
How Muslims should live - they should show fairness and justice in their lives, following the example of God. This means they must campaign against injustices in the world, eg. Prejudice and poverty.
It can be linking with why Muslims donate Zakah as one of the 5 pillars, to show justice to all.
Mercy and forgiveness - Muslims believe in God’s mercy and that they will be judged fairly on whether they should go to heaven or hell. Book of deeds.

What is the authority of the holy books? Give 3
One of the six articles of faith in Sunni Islam.
They are words recorded to help guide humans on how to live their lives. They warn of judgement in the afterlife. The books include Scrolls of Abraham, Torah of Moses, Psalms of David, Gospel of Jesus, the Holy Qur’an / untouched by human influence.
What is Barzakh?
The state of waiting - a barrier that prevents people going to the afterlife until they have been judged.
What is the Day of Judgement?
Everyone who has lived will be resurrected - people’s “book of deeds” recorded by the angels will be read. Book in right hand = heaven. Book in left hand = hell.
After judgement, people will walk across the Sirat bridge where the wicked fall to hell.
