Give two reasons why the prophet Ibrahim is important in Islam
Re-established Tawhid and key beliefs / passed on the scripture to his followers / ensured justice and fairness within society / warned them about the Akhirah / showed great faith in Allah by completing the tests, eg sacrificing his son / built the Ka’aba / Hajj is linked back to Ibrahim / showed people a way of life
Give two beliefs about the Imamate in Shi’a Islam.
-belief that all imams should be spiritual descendants of the Prophet Muhammad
-Ali was the true successor/there have been 12 Imams

-Heaven is a peaceful place for those who have been good -There will be rivers of wine -It happens after death / on the day of judgement.

Give two reasons why life after death (Akhirah) is important for Muslims
Paradise (heaven) / hell / it is the experience of peace and happiness / it is God’s reward for living a life in accordance with God’s will / it ensures that justice is done / those who have got away with wickedness in this life will be called to account after death / those who have suffered unjustly in this life will experience joy after death / it gives Muslims the motivation to live well in this life
Explain two ways in which predestination influences Muslims today.
Explain two ways in which belief in angels influences Muslims today
-They will avoid sins and those things that Qur’an prohibits / eg lying, stealing and committing shirk as the angel on the left shoulder will write down all the bad deeds that humans commit.In the Qur’an,it say’s ‘Verily, we were recording what you used to do.’ (45:29).
-It may give them comfort in times of need / knowing that God is aware of their struggles / that he will shower his love on them on the Day of Judgement
-Muslims should live good lives because God is beneficent and will hold them accountable for their good deeds e.g the five pillars of islam,readingthe Qur’an and will reward them
