Three monotheistic religions that all worship the same God but have have differing beliefs and practices: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam

Five acts of worship required of all Muslims
Quran
Holy book of the Islamic faith
Mecca
Holy city of Islam, considered to be the birthplace of Mohammad. Muslims must complete a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life.
Sunni Muslims
Muslims who believe that anyone could become the leader of the Islamic faith as long as they were chosen by the Muslim community (makes up the majority of Muslims today).
Shi’ite Muslim
Muslims who believe that the leader of the Islamic faith must be a direct descendant of Muhammad.

Cultural Diffusion
The spread of ideas, customs, and technologies from one people or culture to another
Baghdad
Former capital of the Abbasid Caliphate and modern day capital of Iraq. Baghdad was the heart of the Arab world during the Islamic Golden Age. It was a place of knowledge, learning, trade, and exchange for different cultures and ideas.
Arabesque
An Arabic style of design and art which utilized images from the natural world. Artists crafted stems, leaves, flowers, and tendrils (threadlike parts of plants) into elegant patterns.
