What does angina feel like?
Pressing, squeezing, heaviness, a weight
Radiates to arm(s), neck, jaw and teeth
When do you get angina?
Exertion, stress, cold wind, after meals
GI differentials of chest pain
Reflux
Peptic ulcer pain
Oesophageal spasm
Biliary colic
MSK differentials of chest pain
Injury, location, tender, prolonged, exac. by moving area,
Nerve root pain, character, prolonged
Central chest pain, posture related
i.e relieved when sitting forward
Pericarditis!
Pleuritic pain is exacerbated by what?
Breathing, sharp catching and focal pain
Pain of dissection of aorta
Tearing, excruciating, severe then eases
Gold standard for looking at coronary heart disease
Angiography
-can give follow-in angioplasty
-risk 1:1000 death, stroke
Radiation
Contrast: renal dysfunction, rash, nausea
