What is focal ischaemia seen with? How does it present? Tx?
A

- presents as sudden onset focal dysfunction
- no tx but in many cases there will be good resolution with conservative therapy

Q
What is global ischaemia seen with? How does it present? Tx?
A
- seen with iliac thrombosis
- basically the whole rear end of the animal is ischaemic
- very common in cats, rare in dogs
- should be obvious on CE: pain, pulseless, pale, paretic hindlimbs
- usually secondary to cardiovascular disease in the cat (Cushing’s or kidneys in dogs), investigate and tx the cardiovascular dz and prognosis is dependent on that
