Q

Q

Tx/prognosis

A
  • compression of the spinal cord doesn’t necessarily result in irreparable damage
  • if compression is removed then full function can be achieved
  • the length of time and severity of compression can affect outcome, but the prognosis in many cases is good
  • if the spinal cord is compressed the best outcome is usually achieved by surgical decompression (but if combined with concussive may respond well to conservative management)
