divalproex contraindications
Significant hepatic dysfunction
Mitochondrial disorders
Pregnancy (can cause major congenital malformations)
Should not be used during pregnancy or in women of childbearing age without contraception.

-Closed angle glaucoma

-Hepatotoxicity
hepatic failure can occur and patients should have serum liver tests conducted and monitored for symptoms of hepatic failure

Serious rash. Can cause serious skin rashes including Stevens-Johnson syndrome requiring hospitalization and discontinuation of treatment.
