HIDA is the acronym for a growing and ageing population

I - increased population living with chronic disease and disability

What is Australia’s growing and ageing population caused by?
- decreased birth rate
- decline mortality rates with an increase in life expectancy
- sustained rated of immigration from overseas
What does ‘healthy ageing’ mean?
‘Healthy ageing’ means throughout all different life stages, illness is prevented and effectively treated

- increasing education the population regrading food health practices (e.g meeting national guidelines for physical activity)
