Ions Flashcards
What is an ion?
A charged particle, formed when an atom loses or gains electrons to get a full outer shell
What are cations?
Positively charged ions
What are anions?
Negatively charged ions
What charge would a non-metal ion have?
A negative charge
What charge would a metal ion have?
A positive charge
(A hydrogen ion would be positively charged also)
